Nutritional Supplements

You are what you eat.

This truth has often been ignored and may be the most significant cause for most illness and disease in the world today. People eating stuff that looks like food, yet is deficient. People consuming modified foods, which cause disease and, in fact, are toxic.

Our primary drives for food are energy and nutrients. This seems so logical, so why can't we get it right?

Modified Food

We are told, through marketing, that if it looks like food, and it tastes like food it must be food. Unfortunately, we now know that the reason manufacturers modify food is to 'keep it fresh longer'. This is, of course, not the case. The real reason food is modified is to keep it saleable longer and the manufacturer (or grower) will modify the food (or food process) enough to stop the food from degenerating.

What we forget is that it is the degeneration of food which releases the nutrients into our bodies. In fact, we break down the food to metabolize it. Food which doesn't break down is food which won't release its nutrients to our bodies.

And to make things worse, processing food is often done by removing the most active ingredients - yes the ingredients that cause the food to 'go bad' - thus removing the most nutritionally rich component of the food.

Diversity

Many people eat the same, or similar foods every day. Mostly to find their energy requirements. Unfortunately in consuming a less than diverse diet, we tend to deplete essential nutrients such as Vitamins, Minerals, Trace Elements and Essential Fatty Acids. Eating an exotically diverse menu is not always the answer. Just eating colorful food is very helpful in finding adequate nutrients, but most people don't even realize when their diverse food choices are, in fact, very similar.

Knowing Better

In an attempt to compensate for the 'bad food' we eat, we often eat 'good food', and lots of it. The food choices we make are unfortunately based on the latest report that this food is good for us, and alleviates one of our greatest fears in disease.

Of course, we forget to listen to our own bodies and force-feed ourselves 'good food'.

Solving the problem

Eating diverse and unmodified foods is a good start. (Even eating too much cooked food is causing our bodies to react in a stress response). We know how a lack or unbalance can cause combinations of symptoms or tendencies in people. Starting with a Nutritional Analysis is your best strategy before modifying your nutritional intake.

Once we see the results, it can be relatively easy to adopt changes in nutrition (some only temporary in order to get back on track).

In most cases, we can use Nutritional Supplementation to regain balance or create a path to wellness, followed by rebalancing your diet with the right foods to maintain the balance over time, avoiding disease.

Difference in Goals

My goal is to get you OFF nutritional supplementation as soon as practical. Sometimes this cannot be fully achieved and you may need to keep taking one or two supplements for a longer period of time, but I strongly believe in bringing the body back to balance and allowing the body to regain its full strength and ability to maintain its own balance.

It has become an accepted fact that when you take over a function from the body, the body stops providing this function and you become reliant on the supplement or drug. My goal is to guide my clients to regain a balanced and harmonious approach to wellness and to seek such a balance that the body is completely capable of taking care of itself.

Wellness is NOT defined by the absence of disease. Wellness is when disease is no longer an option.
